Artial Septal Defect
The Cocoon Septal Occluder is used in the transcatheter closure of atrial septal defects.

Double Disc
self centering (LA disc more than 4 mm than a RA disc)
Nitinol – 55 % Nickel, 45% Titanium
Nitinol wires woven to form 2 discs separated by a waist
The device is coated with Platinum to insulate Nickel from the system to avoid Nickel leaching into the Blood…
Poly propylene fabric inserted inside the mesh to assist arrest shunt from LA to RA.
Patent Ductus Arteriosus
A transcatheter PDA closure is a minimally-invasive (non-surgical) procedure to close the ductus arteriosus.

Braided nitinol wires
It is designed in the shape of Hat with a tapering section and extended diameter at 1 side to hold device at the aortic end from slipping into the pulmonary artery.
Platinum
Patent Foramen Ovale
The PFO Device consists of 2 Discs, made up of Platinum coated Nitinol Wires, connected by a Thin waist. The RA Disc is larger than the LA Disc as the Shunt has to close from RA to LA. The Waist is thin ie., of small Diameter when compared with ASD and VSD Device. The length if the waist is longer than ASD/VSD Devices to accommodate the width of the Tunnel.

Ventricular Septal Defect
Cocoon VSD Devices have been designed to have a SOFT WAIST, wherein the WAIST, squeezes out to RV and LV Side instead of putting pressure on the Septum and Bundle of HIS
The Waist offers minimum pressure on the Septum avoiding pressure on the Muscle Fibers, which conduct Electrical pulses to the LV and RV thus avoiding Heart Block.

Self Expanding Double Disc Device
The Device is made of Platinum coated Nitinol wire mesh.
Discs are connected together by a short connecting waist.
The platinum coated disc and the waist is filled with multiple Polypropelene woven fabric sewed to the body of the device, which aids as total occlusion of the defect.
